Penacova is a Portuguese village in the district of Coimbra, located in the province of Beira Litoral, in the Centro region (Beiras Region) and in the Region of Coimbra sub-region, with about 3,200 inhabitants.
It is the seat of a municipality with an area of 216.73 km² and 15 251 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 8 parishes. The municipality is limited to the north by the municipalities of Mortágua and Santa Comba Dão (Viseu), to the east by Tábua, to the southeast by Arganil, to the south by Vila Nova de Poiares, to the west by Coimbra and to the northwest by Mealhada (Aveiro). The municipality has three towns with village status: Penacova, Lorvão and São Pedro de Alva.
